About

My Story

Lincoln McKenzie

I started playing guitar over 30 years ago and was hooked straight away. I always knew I wanted to be a musician, but I didn't have the confidence to go all in, so it took me years to commit.

I worked on building sites, in restaurants, and sat through enough sales meetings with big-box retailers to know I couldn't put music off any longer.

In 2007, I returned to Melbourne, resumed lessons with my first guitar teacher, and completed a Bachelor of Music at the University of Melbourne (VCA).

Since then, I've been performing across blues, rock, jazz, pop and soul, and teaching privately and in schools throughout Victoria. Recently a big part of my work has been running school ensembles and preparing rock bands from Year 4 to Year 12 for concerts and festivals.

In 2019 I started a YouTube Channel, which led to launching In-Flow Guitar Coaching — a one-on-one program for intermediate players who've been playing for years but still feel stuck.
